There are days I dont want to get out of bed. There are days I dont recognize myself in the mirror. It’s par for the course this past year. My body has completely changed from the inside and out and the daily foreign surprises can be very lonely. But you force yourself to put on that fancy dress that doesnt fit you the way it once did. You tell yourself all sorts of things to put one foot in front of the other. Because you and your daughters have the lives we do because of organizations like @equalitynoworg. And it’s important to show up. To show up for all the girls around the world who need us to keep fighting.

I can’t tell you special it was to be able to pay tribute to the inimitable, exquisite @chimamanda_adichie with Ember by my side. To have Ember be on stage with such a powerful community of artists and activists was divine. I can’t help but hope these are her people. That she feels at home in this tribe.
