I’ve always been very private. Fiercely so. So much so that even my family and closest of friends get frustrated with me. But as I have stubbornly embraced the advancing times, I am finding fresh new balance and setting different boundaries that are ever evolving and exciting. I can honestly say that by sharing in ways that I would not have felt comfortable doing before, I have found my life to be truly richer and deeper in so many ways. The fact that we are all able to connect from the furthest reaches of the world so instantly and effortlessly is remarkable. And what’s palpable is that the things that really matter, still matter most.

If you are reading this, you have somehow stumbled upon my website for what could be one of several reasons, maybe even by mistake, and I thank you for taking the time to stay and peruse. Welcome. Engage. The community I have met through my travails is uniquely diverse and the most unconditionally loving of hearts and such thoughtful minds. Wonderfully audacious. I love hearing from you. I love learning from you. I love being challenged by you. I love that now I can’t imagine my life without you.

Which is why I started ‘Beneath the Sheetz.’ You have been so encouraging.  I wanted to continue our dialogue more actively. I feel this will unfold organically as the posts will range in topic and tone, but what I do know for sure is that I will inevitably say things that annoy you and you disagree with. It’s par for the course.

I look forward to much discovery and embracing this space as a home for honesty, growth, and fun.

And I love that you are indulging me right now.  Si, I know it may be maudlin. But deal. I mean it and I felt my first post here to be appropriately this.

My love note to you.

Much love, S.

this last month have been the craziest devastating moment for me, i lost my parent in just 22 days apart, my dreams turned to ashes in the split second, life seems so far of reach, with all the people out there cannot stop fighting and judging, i found the clarity in this time, somehow, even in the most desperate moment, there were people like you, who put their life for love, compassion, and pure heart. thank you for your time. In God i found my way, but in people like you, i know there is still people who care…thank you…

Thanks for sharing a part of you with us! I hope you know that you have the power to inspire people, to make them believe… at least that’s what happens to me. We all admire you as a producer, as an actress, but most of all as a human being. You’re my role model :’) Don’t ever stop being yourself!

  • Maria says:

This is wonderful beyond words. The amount of work and love you put into this is obvious and much appreciated. As a fan, I think your talents have no boundaries. You are an amazing actress (Your role in “The world unseen” = perfection.), but I can easily imagine you as an author, director, screenwriter, talk show host, and even comedian ! And yes, I tend to agree with your mother that you could still do med school and probably in half the normal time (if you wanted to) ! For me, what you most excel at is being a genuine and caring human being….wise beyond your years. I’m hooked on your positive thoughts, constructive critiques, and inspirational words!
Much love, respect, and admiration for you Ms Sheetal !

Whichever way you choose to share your thoughts and all those little bits of yourself with us, know that we hold each and everyone of those thoughts and and bits precious. Yes, I love reading your tweets, you’re the reason I bloody well joined Twitter! I love your interviews and I get giddy when I get a reply from you to my emails.
I think you’re a wonderful actress, mainly because you’re so thoughtful in the choice of your roles and the passion you put into them. I also love that Ayn Rand quote at the bottom of this page. You and I are different in many ways, but we also have enough in common that I would say that we would be friends indeed, if we ever met in person. I am ever so humbled that you consider us (your fans) your friends regardless. I hope you are well and happy always. Much love to you, too.

  • Charis Maloy says:

Sheetal, welcome to the nebulous world of internet friendships. Yes, you will be challenged to be more analytical and honest with yourself about the weirdest stuff. You will find that on a bad day when you feel the need to rant, you rant out your anger and frustration and talk yourself calm. Of course, at that point, you’ll probably delete your post before it goes public. The fact is, friends are the ones that listen. Whether your day was good or bad, whether the words flowing from your lips are praises or frustrated screams, a friend will sit quietly and listen. They will shout praises with you and sympathize with your frustrated screams.
It is much the same with blog followers. You may piss them off one day and make them laugh the next. They will disagree with what you have to say and they will challenge you. Nobody grows by surrounding themselves with sycophants. Those that care wll continue to read and challenge you. It’s a scary world, speaking from one very private person to another, but well worth the journey.

  • Jeanne says:

Love your tweets and now your blog!! Good job!!

  • AngelJerlin says:

Wow! Love the new look of your website. 🙂 I’ve first ‘seen’ you in the movie I Can’t Think Straight. You were awesome! Then I’ve seen The World Unseen and was impressed more not just by your talent but because you act with such strong conviction. You believe in what you do and people can see how passionate you are about it. The movies that you make aren’t just movies. They are strong statements of what the world should know and care about. It’s revolutionary. I myself as a woman, stand for many things- strongly, for gender equality and freedom to be. Way to go, Sheetal! All the best. 🙂

Sheetz, I really appreaciate the sincere effort you have demostrated in creating a strong cohesive bond with us.You mentioned above,we all are not going to agree to every thing. That is logical but the Love,Sincerity, and Genuiness would survive Amongst US. This Friend Idealogy you have created, in my opinion is Solid. And would attract more members to Your Fan Club. Sheetz I hope you realize that you have created a group of Fans/Friends that are Extremely Loyal to you.(MY SELF INCLUDED) would do anything to maintain this relationship that exist amongst US.Your Fan Club is increasing rapidly,A situation I Fear Personally because it interferes with the Personnal Relationship you might have with each of US.But the more friends/fans that comes into this beautiful group the more Cohesive it Becomes .

  • mervat mkhyber says:

I love the literary touch in your writing…..by these words i can feel how much you are a great emotional woman…much respect!!!!!

  • Olga says:

I can honestly say that I never imagined actually writing any type of correspondence to an artist as yourself. . After having seen a few of the films you have performed in, besides your great performance what jumped out at me was the emotional range and depth that was demonstrated. The emotions are not loud or dramatic or exagerated but rather subtle ,graceful and genuine. Maybe they come across through the richness of your eyes. Maybe your are simply a natural and your diety gave you your gift. Your performances were just so convincing, so real it looked like you were living the lives of your charachters. There are a lot of great actors out there, but they are not always “truely” the charachter.
May you continue being blessed with roles that challenge and develop you and take you where you want to go. Best Regards,
    Tampa, Fl.

  • Ellie says:

    To our dearest Sheetal,

Greetings from the Philippines! I just want to say that the reason why you have amazing and loving fans is because you give importance to us. We feel like you are really trying your best to connect with us and that is something not all artists are willing to do.. I really admire you so much that I dream of meeting you someday, in any way possible. You inspire me a lot and makes me wanna do things that I never dare do before. Never in my life have I admired an actor like this before. You are very intelligent but there’s no hint of arrogance in you. I know people admire you not only because of your beauty but also because of your vibrant personality. I’m dealing with some sort of depression these days because of a certain problem but visiting your site and just the thought of you thinking about us, your fans, really lift up my spirit.

I really do hope to meet you in the future. I must admit, it is close to impossible but I can still hope. Please take care always and good luck in your endeavors.

    Much love,

  • Niena says:

    Hey Sheetal,
Nice to read your blog. I am a fan of your work in ICTS and TWU. U r an amazing actress and now reading your blog I know u r an amazing human being as well. I can completely relate to your thoughts in this post. Till a few years back I considered any social media interaction too public, just like discussing your personal stuff loudly at a railway station… but gradually I have warmed to the idea of being more open and yes it is a two way street… when u r ready to give u also become ready to receive and its enriching.
Believe me y sharing your thoughts you are giving encouragement and opening up new vista for people u might not even know. This is absolutely great. I can at least vouch for myself that through your work u have really touched my life.

All the best for your future endevours and keep inspiring millions!

  • Every person deserves someone who wants to show them to the world with a smile on their face……….. 🙂

  • Tehzeeb says:

Wow. I’m speechless. I started watching one of your movies, and I honestly can’t stop myself from seeing the rest. Maybe because I love controversy…maybe because you wrote this on my birthday…maybe because the plots make more sense to me than anything i’ve seen in a long time. Your movies answer the questions that i’ve been asking myself for a long time. Watching the movies/roles that you play, it’s refreshing. I can go one saying that i’m your number one fan yada yada yada- i’m guessing you’ve heard it all. I don’t really know what I can say, or if you’ll even read this. But it’s like you are a breath of fresh air, and you can’t blame me for wanting to be healthy….right? Lol! I wish you all the best, and I hope to see you one day. If dreams come true, maybe i’ll even work for you =)

  • MJ says:

    Hello Sweets!
Just want to say thank you for all your work……You probably hear that from every lesbian who has watched your movie. It takes courage and passion to pursue some of the issues you have tackled and from the bottom of my heart I thank you. I hope you continue to push the boundaries of your art, it is the only way towards progress.
