Read Sheetal’s interview with Jade magazine: “Sheetal Sheth: Gorgeous and Grounded.

In almost every article about Sheetal Sheth, there is mention of her looks. However, there’s also always mention of her talents and intellect. This is obviously because she possesses all three and because she is able to translate these traits into something on the big screen that touches something with the audience. And while she’s making a name for herself in Hollywood, she continues to be involved in the community. Sheeth took time out of her busy schedule to talk with JADE Magazine.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I was born on June 24 in Phillipsburg, NJ and was raised there until I was 12 and then moved to Bethlehem, PA. I have an older sister and younger brother. I went to New York University and got my BFA from the honors program at Tisch School of the Arts. My dad is a chemical engineer and my mom is a consultant at a bank

What projects are you currently working on?

I just finished a film Dancing in Twilight with Mimi Rogers, Kal Penn, and Erick Avari. I also have a movie called ‘Indian Cowboy’ to be released later this year. Dancing in Twilight is a film exploring family and relationships after the death of the mother- I play Nicole, the girlfriend of the man who’s mother died and we are going home for the first time since his mom died to meet his father and celebrate her birthday. Tt becomes quite dark and tragic, very moving.

On a lighter note, Indian Cowboy is a romantic comedy in which I play Sapna, a girl who thinks real love does not exist and laughs at anyone who believes otherwise. She meets Nick, who is a romantic at heart and let the games begin…

How did you become interested in acting? When did you decide to pursue it as a career?

I decided I wanted to pursue it professionally when I was in high school.

Was your family supportive about your decision to pursue acting? Were you worried about the risks of pursuing it as a full time career?

Families always want what’s best for you so mine had many concerns about the stability of my life and the sacrifices I would have to make to pursue an acting career, but I have been enjoying the ride. I worry about the risks- to this day, not a day goes by where I don’t wonder what my life would be if I wasn’t an actress and if I would be happier. Clearly, this is my passion and there is no other road I would want, struggle and all.

Tell us a little more about you as a person. How do you like to unwind, and what are some hobbies you enjoy?

I love my friends and family and since I don’t get to see them too much. In my down time, I like to chill with them, read, catch up some movies, take a hike- I love being outside!!

What are some of the challenges and rewards of being in Hollywood?

There is nothing like the first day of starting a new project in whichever medium it may lie and the joy of the never- ending process challenges me and fascinates me…the rewards come in the work and the accomplishments of what you are saying within in it to oneself and, without a doubt, in a larger sense- where it may effect change- small or large.

How does it feel to be an actress and accomplish your dream?

I feel nauseous all the time. And I am still fighting for it.

Is there any advice or anything else you would like to tell our readers?

Define success for yourself. Let it be a very personal thing so you don’t get caught up in other people’s ideas of what you should or need to be and you will be fine. Stay true.
